Dhurandar has been certified A by the CBFC and carries an approved runtime of 3 hours 24 minutes, along with a 4-minute post-credits scene, making it the longest Hindi film since Aamir Khan’s Lagaan.
The film is slated to release on more than 3,500 screens nationwide, with Jio Studios handling distribution. Advance bookings opened on Saturday evening. By the end of the day, the film will have sold around 40,000 tickets across national chains (PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis). With three crucial days to go, Dhurandar is on track for a final pre-sale figure of around 1,20,000 tickets in PIC.
The makers boosted the initial advance with external factors, a common practice for films backed by Jio Studios.
Dhurandar is targeting an opening of ₹16–18 crore domestically and ₹8–10 crore overseas, aiming for a combined global opening of ₹28–30 crore. However, the film will require strong word of mouth to achieve these numbers.
Beyond the slow advance bookings, the bigger concern for Dhurandar is the performance of Tere Ishq Mein. With a fantastic weekday hold, that film is set to retain strong shows next week as well. Distributor Anil Thadani is reportedly complicating matters for Dhurandar, and his influence in the distribution sector is well known as the recent example being Jaat vs Kesari Chapter 2.
An opening in the ₹20 crore range would not be bad for a Ranveer Singh film, but the challenge lies in its massive budget of approximately ₹300 crore.
Over the past two years, December releases like Animal and Pushpa have set numerous records. The industry now waits to see whether Dhurandar can continue this trend.
Both Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh return to the big screen after a long gap. Dhar’s last directorial release was Uri in 2018, though he has remained active with projects such as The Kerala Story and Article 370. Ranveer Singh returns after Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, released on July 28, 2023.
What was once touted as a pan-India spectacle has now turned into a full-blown production crisis. Yash’s mega film, initially directed by Geetu Mohandas, is reportedly in deep trouble after around 45 minutes of already-shot footage has been scrapped, triggering massive reshoots and rewriting chaos.
The project, which began as a ₹300 crore venture, has now shot up to a staggering ₹600 crore, with no clarity on when the shoot will finally wrap. Adding to the turmoil, Yash has taken over as a ghost director, further intensifying creative clashes and slowing down progress.
Insiders describe the atmosphere as tense and uncertain, with endless reshoots, frequent schedule changes, and an exhausted crew caught in the loop. “Every week, the same scene gets shot differently,” shared one team member.
Yash, known for his perfectionism post-KGF, is said to be frustrated and regretful about the way the film has spun out of control. With the production house maintaining silence and costs piling up daily, what was meant to be a cinematic milestone is now being whispered about as a ₹600 crore cautionary tale of chaos, ego, and exhaustion.
Toxic is scheduled to release on Eid 2026. Interestingly, Ranbir Kapoor’s Love & War, directed by the legendary Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is also arriving on the same day. Not just that Ajay Devgn’s Dhamaal 4 is slated for an Eid release too. With Toxic facing multiple reshoots and ongoing production troubles, it’ll be interesting to see whether the team manages to finish the film on time or ends up postponing it again, just like they did last year.
What led both the directors to drop Deepika from their films?
The Kalki producer Vyjayanthi Movies recently tweeted on X about Deepika Padukone’s exit from Kalki 2898 AD. This news was shocking for everyone as Deepika Padukone played very crucial role in Kalki 2898 AD. Vyjayanthi Movies posted “a film like Kalki 2898AD deserves that commitment and much more”. This is shocking from the production house which gave so much to Indian cinema.
Vyjayanthi movies is one of the most heroine supporting production houses in telugu. Right from paying Sridevi almost the same male leads for Akahari Poratam, Jagadeka Veerudu… To mounting Mahanati on Keerthi Suresh rather not an A lister back then.
It’s absolutely shocking that they have given a public statement. Because in telugu usually actors get treated very well. They are paid well and are given good comforts and also in pre release events they praise each other. Its not shocking for Deepika Padukone that any big production house of the counrty giving such statements against her.
Deepika Padukone vs Vyjayanthi movies and Bollywood vs South arguments sparks up.
Now according to south industry sources Deepika Padukone left Kalki because of high demands from the producers. Some say she asked for more money/profit share after Kalki 2898 AD became Super hit as she plays a major role but the production house didn’t agree. As producers already giving her enough fees much more than what bollywood producers giving to her. Whereas Prabhas has not yet increased his fee or profit share. Not even profit share but she asked for less working hours. Apart from these things Deepika Padukone has broke that 2 films deal contract with them.
Vanga is misogynist, etc.” the internet was filled with such claims. But Nag Ashwin & Vyjayanthi movies gave Deepika Padukone a central role in Kalki 2898 AD and still removed her in Part 2, despite Kalki 2898 AD being such a big hit. Then would you also claim Nag Ashwin or Dutt sister’s misogynist? Two men can’t have the same problem, nah even when the producers of Kalki are two women.
Well, she was also accused of being unprofessional and unethical by Ramesh taurani during Race 2. In fact, it’s the other way around Bollywood producers often give in to antics, demands, and tantrums for their own reasons, while South producers and directors maintain a no-nonsense attitude, the source added.
Blame games, back-to-back controversies & never-ending PR circus is new for Deepika Padukone.
Few months back her controversy with Sandeep Reddy Vanga was talk of the town. That time many articles were circulating about how Sandeep reddy vanga treated her badly. The whole media was against Sandeep Reddy Vanga, even calling him many derogatory names. Several articles revealed that Deepika Padukone’s exit was due to disagreements over working hours, remuneration, and discomfort with certain content in the film. It was only drama created by Deepika Padukone’s PR. There was no such bold content in the film Spirit and her PR campaign ended up damaging Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s image.
Some media articles are blaming Prabhas, claiming he was the reason behind Deepika’s exit from Kalki 2898 AD after Deepika’s exist from his film spirit & her fallout with Sandeep reddy vanga. And prabhas don’t want to work with her anymore. The real question is who’s actually dragging whom down here? Prabhas is one of the most secure stars from the South, and trying to spread negativity against him is pure nonsense.
Deepika Padukone’s PR has spent years peddling nonsense against Ranbir Kapoor, even blaming him for her mental health. And after Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2 success, they couldn’t resist throwing shade about who the “real queen” of the industry is which was a desperate and absolutely ridiculous move.
Do you think that after all this drama, South filmmakers will ever sign a big actress again? This isn’t just about movies this unprofessional behavior is damaging Bollywood’s image. Demanding large sums from producers isn’t the issue; walking out of projects halfway through is the serious problem.
Hrithik Roshan, once Bollywood’s “Greek God,” is facing a major career setback. His latest film, War 2: a ₹450 crore sequel with South star NTR opened to just ₹25 crore, a huge disappointment. Because of this, the much-delayed Krrish 4 has been pushed back yet again.
With a reported ₹700 crore budget, Krrish 4 now looks too risky for producers. In the last 12 years, Hrithik has delivered only one major hit (War in 2019), and even that was boosted by Tiger Shroff’s popularity. Without a strong co-star, his films have been struggling.
Director Siddharth Anand’s company Marflix was once set to produce Krrish 4, but after Fighter flopped, they backed out. Even Rakesh Roshan admits it’s been tough to find investors. Since the pandemic, all of Hrithik’s big releases ; Vikram Vedha, Fighter, and now War 2 – have flopped.
The biggest concern is that his movies don’t even get big openings anymore. The actor who once guaranteed massive first-day numbers can’t seem to pull crowds like before.
Industry talk is clear: Krrish 4 isn’t just delayed, it’s likely dead and so might be Hrithik Roshan’s once-unstoppable box office power.
Hrithik Roshan needs to ditch the endless slow-motion action shots and step back into roles like Kaabil or Super 30, the kind that remind audiences he can actually act, not just flex. Viewers are bored of watching him walk in slo-mo while explosions happen in the background. What he desperately needs right now is a sharp, gripping, performance driven film not another overhyped, underwhelming “action spectacle.”

Ranveer Singh’s much-talked-about action spectacle Dhurandar is fast becoming a production headache. What was once mapped out as a 130 day schedule has ballooned into an exhausting 180-day slog with the finish line still nowhere in sight.
Sources say constant reshoots and dissatisfaction with earlier material are the main culprits. The director and creative team have reportedly struggled to pin down the tone and execution of major action set pieces, leading to costly re-filming.
The damage? A jaw-dropping budget surge from ₹300 crore to ₹350 crore, and that’s before factoring in P&A costs. Frustration is mounting on set, with crew members privately calling the project “bleeding money without a clear vision”
Dhurandar Delayed Again and Don 3’s Future Hangs in the Balance.
Initially aiming for a 5th December 2025 release, Dhurandar will now arrive sometime in the first quarter of 2026 pushing Don 3 into yet another delay after several previous setbacks.
For Ranveer Singh, the stakes couldn’t be higher. Following a patchy box office run in recent years, Dhurandar is viewed as a high-stakes comeback vehicle. The burning question remains will this troubled mega-production restore his box office glory, or join the list of Bollywood’s most costly disappointments?
