Yash’s ₹600 Crore Meltdown: 45 Minutes Scrapped, Chaos Reigns

What was once touted as a pan-India spectacle has now turned into a full-blown production crisis. Yash’s mega film, initially directed by Geetu Mohandas, is reportedly in deep trouble after around 45 minutes of already-shot footage has been scrapped, triggering massive reshoots and rewriting chaos.

The project, which began as a ₹300 crore venture, has now shot up to a staggering ₹600 crore, with no clarity on when the shoot will finally wrap. Adding to the turmoil, Yash has taken over as a ghost director, further intensifying creative clashes and slowing down progress.

Insiders describe the atmosphere as tense and uncertain, with endless reshoots, frequent schedule changes, and an exhausted crew caught in the loop. “Every week, the same scene gets shot differently,” shared one team member.

Yash, known for his perfectionism post-KGF, is said to be frustrated and regretful about the way the film has spun out of control. With the production house maintaining silence and costs piling up daily, what was meant to be a cinematic milestone is now being whispered about as a ₹600 crore cautionary tale of chaos, ego, and exhaustion.

Toxic is scheduled to release on Eid 2026. Interestingly, Ranbir Kapoor’s Love & War, directed by the legendary Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is also arriving on the same day. Not just that Ajay Devgn’s Dhamaal 4 is slated for an Eid release too.
With Toxic facing multiple reshoots and ongoing production troubles, it’ll be interesting to see whether the team manages to finish the film on time or ends up postponing it again, just like they did last year.
