Dhurandar has been certified A by the CBFC and carries an approved runtime of 3 hours 24 minutes, along with a 4-minute post-credits scene, making it the longest Hindi film since Aamir Khan’s Lagaan.
The film is slated to release on more than 3,500 screens nationwide, with Jio Studios handling distribution. Advance bookings opened on Saturday evening. By the end of the day, the film will have sold around 40,000 tickets across national chains (PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis). With three crucial days to go, Dhurandar is on track for a final pre-sale figure of around 1,20,000 tickets in PIC.
The makers boosted the initial advance with external factors, a common practice for films backed by Jio Studios.
Dhurandar is targeting an opening of ₹16–18 crore domestically and ₹8–10 crore overseas, aiming for a combined global opening of ₹28–30 crore. However, the film will require strong word of mouth to achieve these numbers.
Beyond the slow advance bookings, the bigger concern for Dhurandar is the performance of Tere Ishq Mein. With a fantastic weekday hold, that film is set to retain strong shows next week as well. Distributor Anil Thadani is reportedly complicating matters for Dhurandar, and his influence in the distribution sector is well known as the recent example being Jaat vs Kesari Chapter 2.
An opening in the ₹20 crore range would not be bad for a Ranveer Singh film, but the challenge lies in its massive budget of approximately ₹300 crore.
Over the past two years, December releases like Animal and Pushpa have set numerous records. The industry now waits to see whether Dhurandar can continue this trend.
Both Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh return to the big screen after a long gap. Dhar’s last directorial release was Uri in 2018, though he has remained active with projects such as The Kerala Story and Article 370. Ranveer Singh returns after Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, released on July 28, 2023.
With Jolly LLB 3, Akshay Kumar scores his third success of 2025 with 3 100-cr film this year. The numbers look impressive considering his rough patch over the last 3 years where he managed only one hit out of ten releases.
All 4 of his releases this year did reasonably well, earning a combined domestic box office of about 480 cr and around 130 cr internationally roughly 600 crore in total for 2025. That’s respectable, but it’s not at the pre-COVID level for Akshay Kumar. Despite 4 releases, none of these films reached even 1 crore footfalls, which is worrying sign. With multiple releases, we can’t expect every film to touch 500 cr, but they should be targeting 250–300 cr with good footfalls.
But still this question stands tall that why his big/ good films suffers at box office ?
Akshay’s working style has always been different for the last 35 years. He has consistently released 3 to 4 films every year. With such a pace it’s tough to generate big footfalls with every release yet till the pre-COVID era he consistently delivered decent numbers with each film drawing good footfalls at the box office.
Indian cinema has touched 500 cr domestically and 1000 cr globally in recent years. With every release of Akshay Kumar there’s always an expectation for him to deliver big at the box office simply because he has the potential to do so, right?
Post-COVID: Reasons Why Akshay Kumar Needs to Change His Working Style.
1. Housefull 5 did 165 cr at the box office even with negative reviews because his audience wants proper commercial films from him not social films every three months.
2. Jolly LLB 3 is his 4th release in 9 months and his 7th in the last 19 months. His better work suffers because of these multiple films.
3. There should be a 5 to 6 month gap between releases for good reach. Times have changed since COVID; audiences are now more selective.
4. People aren’t going to theaters because they know the film will be on OTT after a few weeks. Short theatrical windows hurt him even more when he has multiple releases.
5. At the very least, he should stop releasing his films on OTT quickly and maintain a 6 to 8 month gap.
6. Music is also a problem. With a poor soundtrack, his films fail to generate buzz.
7. Promotion may feel wasteful, but awareness still needs to be maintained.
8. He hardly gets involved in his films after shooting is finished, and that’s the main problem. He should monitor a film’s status right up to the release date.
9. Advance, shows, and screens issues keep cropping up every time one of his films is about to be released why does that happen?
He’s making strong films with great performances, and those films deserve hit or superhit status. For major blockbusters, he should change his approach. A superstar should make films for every segment of the audience, but he’s ignoring his core fans by doing social films. And when he did try, the films were so bad that the audience rejected them.
Cinema has always been an integral part of our lives, weaving stories that transport us into a world of imagination. For over 100 years of Indian cinema, there have been a few stars whose filmy lives give you chills and make you want to write more and more and AkshayKumar is one of them.
So, let’s begin the story of a man who inspired us by showing that hard work doesn’t always pay off. The favorite son of God, who always fights back, and in an industry where he had no connections, he became one of the biggest superstars.
In a country where cinema is nothing short of religion, Akshay Kumar stands as one of its most worshipped idols. With a career spanning over three decades, Akshay Kumar has seen dizzying highs, painful lows, public scrutiny, and undying fan devotion.
Early Life Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia, popularly known as Akshay Kumar, was born in Amritsar, Punjab, in 1967. His father, Hari Om Bhatia, served in the Indian Army.
Later, he lived in Delhi, but after a few years, he moved to Mumbai, where he completed his schooling at Don Bosco High School, Matunga, and pursued higher education at Guru Nanak Khalsa College.
College Dropout & Passion for Martial Arts.
Akshay Kumar dropped out of college to pursue his passion for martial arts. He went to Bangkok, Thailand, to learn martial arts, specifically Muay Thai (Thai boxing). He lived in Thailand for several years, working as a waiter and a chef in Bangkok to support himself while training. During this time, he earned a black belt in Taekwondo and later went on to learn other martial arts forms such as Karate and Kung Fu.
After seven long years, he returned to Mumbai and started teaching martial arts to youngsters to earn his livelihood.
Akshay Kumar’s pre-Bollywood journey is nothing short of a cinematic experience. From being born into a Punjabi family, to moving to Delhi and later to Mumbai, to working as a waiter in Thailand while mastering martial arts. His path was truly extraordinary.
Bollywood Debut Akshay Kumar made his film debut with Saugandh in 1991, directed by Raj N. Sippy. However, it was Abbas-Mustan’s thriller Khiladi (1992) that earned him the iconic “Khiladi” tag.
After the release of Khiladi, Akshay Kumar became a household name in the industry, adding several hits to his filmography. By 1994, he had reached new heights of success, delivering multiple hits, including the blockbuster Mohra alongside Suniel Shetty.
After 1997, Akshay Kumar faced a downturn in his career. However, he stood strong and delivered the iconic Hera Pheri in the 2000s under the direction of Priyadarshan. It was a pivotal moment that revived his star power and marked a new chapter in his cinematic journey.
Akshay Kumar’s impressive performances across various genres over the past three decades have left a lasting mark on audiences. From his success in cop roles to his effortless ability to adapt to every character, he has truly showcased his versatility. While his remarkable work in comedy is widely celebrated, he has also delivered iconic performances in other genres, with films like Janwar and Sangharsh, as well as Aankhen – arguably one of his most underrated roles.
The 2000s Showcase The 2000s showcased Akshay Kumar’s versatility, ranging from unforgettable comic roles to his award-winning performance in Ajnabee.
He is one of the few actors who consistently explored different genres, especially after the 1990s. His remarkable performance in Aankhen and his widely acclaimed role in Khakee stand out, with his face-off against Amitabh Bachchan highlighting the impressive range of his acting talent.
Back in the 90s, critics dismissed him as “furniture,” yet those same people later collaborated with him. Akshay Kumar’s journey is truly inspiring; a testament to resilience, reinvention, and self-belief.
Post-2005 Career Akshay Kumar achieved unprecedented stardom after 2005. Not only did he earn the tag of “Comedy King” with cult comic films, but he also delivered multiple hits across different genres. His popularity among younger audiences grew with every release. In 2007, he delivered three consecutive hits along with the blockbuster Welcome. Then in 2008, with Singh Is Kinng, Akshay Kumar truly became the king of the box office.
Between 2009 and 2012, while some of his films underperformed, many opened big and performed on par with the hits of his contemporaries.
The year 2012 marked a strong comeback with blockbusters like Rowdy Rathore and successful films such as Housefull 2. Critically acclaimed movies like OMG: Oh My God!, Special 26, and Baby further earned him significant respect as an actor.
After Airlift (2016), Akshay Kumar delivered 12 consecutive successful films until the COVID-19 pandemic: a feat many actors haven’t achieved in their entire careers. During this run, he even won box office clashes against stars like Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan, and John Abraham.
Covid ruined his legacy but he came back like a real Khiladi.
Akshay Kumar’s last 3–4 years are inspiring. He was on top till Sooryavanshi, then came a terrible downfall. He made many blunders like the Vimal ad, remakes, and too many films. He gave multiple 2cr films, almost everyone wrote him off, but he never gave up. There is a saying: If the eagle doesn’t fly for four days, it doesn’t mean the sky belongs to the pigeons.
He worked hard, did films like Sarfira and Sky Force where he received tremendous appreciation. A film like Kesari 2 gave him respect, and the audience gave him lots of love. He gained their trust again; a trust he had lost in the last 3 years.
First, immense appreciation for a film like Sky Force, and now box office success with Kesari Chapter 2 and Housefull 5, Akshay Kumar is proving why true dedication never fades. Through every high and low, he has stood strong, facing criticism with grace and answering only through his work. Those who trolled, doubted him, and dismissed his dedication are now witnessing his resurgence.
Kesari Chapter 2 was his best performance to date. His body language, dialogues, anger in his eyes, and screen presence. Everything is just wow. A reminder that talent, hard work, and discipline always triumph. He never needed validation, his work speaks for itself.
Now he is back as a box office star where he left in 2021. Stronger than ever, he proved legends don’t fade, they rise again.
Awards, Legacy & Seva for His Motherland Bharat.
Akshay Kumar received the Padma Shri in 2009, one of India’s highest civilian honours. Later, with films like Airlift and Rustom, he earned his first National Award. His film Padman also won the National Award for Best Film in 2018.
In 2022, he was honoured with the Samman Patra for being the highest taxpayer in India for five consecutive years which is a true testament to his honesty and commitment towards his nation.
With over 55 successful movies, 30 films crossing 1 crore+ footfalls, and 18 films in the 100-crore club, Akshay Kumar is truly an industry in himself. Today, he has it all; millions of fans, films for every generation, a larger-than-life presence, and a classic filmography.
But Akshay Kumar’s legacy is not just about his films; it is about the life he has lived. From working as a waiter in Thailand to becoming India’s highest taxpayer, his journey is an inspiration for millions.
Akshay Kumar has continuously extended his service to the nation during its most challenging times. From initiating the Bharat Ke Veer app to his humanitarian efforts in Punjab, he has always stepped forward with dedication. Over the past few years, he has donated more than ₹100 crore, including ₹25 crore to the PM Relief Fund during COVID, as well as contributions towards the Ram Mandir Seva.
Last year, he donated ₹1.21 crore to the Haji Ali Dargah, showing that true Seva transcends religion and is meant for all of humanity.
On this special day, I extend my heartfelt wishes to Akshay Kumar,a man whose life exemplifies how discipline, perseverance, and humility can transform dreams into destiny. From a young boy washing dishes in Bangkok to a global icon commanding the admiration of millions, your journey stands as a testament to resilience and inspiration.

You’ve probably read countless articles on Salman Khan over the past 37 years. But what’s new in this one? Something special… something different. So let’s dive into the story of a Mega-Star a journey filled with superstardom, inspiration, controversies, and a off – screen persona that continues to live in millions of hearts.
The Birth of a Superstar
Abdul Rashid SalimSalman Khan, also known as Salman Khan, was born on 27 December 1965 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh,India, to renowned writer SalimKhan.
In a country where cinema is nothing sort of a religion, Salman Khan stands as one of its most worshipped idols, in the league of Dilip Kumar, Dharmendra, and Amitabh Bachchan.
Prem Who Stole Bollywood’s Heart
Salman Khan’s journey in Bollywood began in 1989 as a lead hero with Maine Pyaar Kiya, directed by Sooraj R. Barjatya. He played the character of Prem, one of the most iconic roles in the history of Bollywood. Maine Pyaar Kiya was one of the biggest blockbusters of its time and still ranks among the top five films in the romantic genre.
He may have entered the industry as SalimKhan’s son, but everything changed after his debut. Salman Khan became a household name overnight with the blockbuster Maine Pyaar Kiya. The hysteria was so massive that today’s “Saiyaara kids” can’t even begin to understand the craze that film created.
Ruling Hearts and Screens
Salman Khan ruled the 90s with a streak of massive hits, cementing his place as a powerhouse who could sell tickets purely on his name. Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! and Hum SaathSaath Hain made him the ultimate darling of family audiences, while Judwaa turned him into a youth sensation, proving he could charm every section of the audience with ease.
Controversies, Courtrooms, and Constant Headlines
The late 90s and 2000s were a stormy chapter in Salman Khan’s life. The Blackbuck Poaching Case (1998) and the Hit-and-Run Case (2002) turned into national debates, while his personal life remained under the scanner. His much talked about relationship and breakup with AishwaryaRai, Vivek Oberoi’s explosive press conference, and the rift with Shah Rukh Khan ensured that Salman was rarely away from the headlines.
During this phase, his stardom saw a slight dip compared to his own towering standards. Yet, even in the midst of turbulence, he delivered Tere Naam; a film and performance that became an era-defining moment in Bollywood.
By mid-2000s, Salman shifted gears, exploring comedy with hits like Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, NoEntry, and Partner, showcasing his ability to reinvent himself and connect with audiences beyond romance and action.
While the 2000s gave him both cinematic highs and personal lows, one truth remained that Salman Khan was never just an actor, he was a phenomenon the nation couldn’t stop talking about.
The Bad Boy with a Golden Heart: Stardom Meets Philanthropy
Being Human and Bigg Boss marked a turning point for Salman Khan. Salman Khan’s career in the 2000s was a saga of contrasts towering professional success on one side, and headline-grabbing controversies on the other. He carried the aura of Bollywood’s ultimate “bad boy,” yet beneath it all was a philanthropist with a heart that beat for millions. The launch of Being Human in the late 2000s didn’t just add a charitable layer to his image. It cemented his legacy as a star who gave back as much as he took from the spotlight.
Even as court cases, fiery relationships, and public spats tried to dim his shine, Salman’s resilience turned every setback into a comeback. He didn’t just survive the storms he walked through them and came out stronger, proving that true legends can never be overshadowed for long. What the world would soon witness is that Salman Khan was not just a star of his time, but a phenomenon destined to dominate eras.
Dabang and Beyond: The Making of a Bollywood Phenomenon
Eid 2009 Salman khan came with wanted & exactly after 1 years came DABANGG.
No other cop universe film will ever beat the repeat value and enjoyment that Dabangg brought in the audience . A renowned better film made in the Bollywood not only of Salmankhan’s career but for working as a trendsetter in Bollywood as well.
If romantic films are the heart of Hindi cinema, then cop/masala entertainers are undoubtedly its heartbeat pulsing with high-octane drama, raw emotion, and unforgettable characters. And when it comes to ruling the masala genre, Dabangg stands tall at the very top.
More Than an Actor, A Phenomenon
From Tier-2 gullies to Tier-3 heartlands, and all the way to high-society metros, the Salman Khan genre knows no boundaries. His movies are a phenomenon, relatable yet heroic, rooted yet larger-than-life. In cinema there are stars, there are genres… and then there is Salman Khan- a category of his own.
What makes him universal? It’s that unbeatable mix of action, rawemotion, and puredrama. The perfect recipe that keeps audiences of every generation hooked, whistling, and clapping for more.
Bollywood Waits as Salman Prepares His Return
In the last 6–7 years, Salman has faced some struggles, but all he needs is one powerful script for a grand comeback.
His next project, Galwan Valley, is aiming for an August–October release, and he’s in talks with several top directors. More than anyone else, distributors and exhibitors are counting on him. Bollywood has few stars who truly appeal to the masses and Salman Khan is one of them.
As the saying goes, “Sagar khamoshi mein bhi, Sagar hi rahta hai” — and Salman is that Sagar of Bollywood.
What was once pitched as Indian cinema’s biggest gangster saga is now shaping up to be its most expensive warning story. Toxic, directed on paper by Geetu Mohandas and starring Yash, has exploded into a ₹600 crore project and that is not even counting Yash’s massive fee. Yet, after nearly two years, less than 60% of the film is complete.
Behind the glossy posters lies pure chaos: endless reshoots, cancelled schedules, casting shake-ups, and a crew left hanging. Insiders whisper that Yash, not Geetu, is calling the shots, ghost-directing large chunks of the movie. His lack of faith in Geetu has reportedly led to clashes that have stalled progress.
For Yash, the pressure is huge. After KGF 2 turned him into a national star, Toxic was meant to secure his legacy. Instead, he seems trapped in paranoia, micromanaging every detail and slowing the film down. His biggest fear is that one flop will reveal his fame as built only on KGF.
Yash seems to be eyeing a path similar to Prabhas. Just like Prabhas’s stardom went pan-India after Baahubali, KGF 2 was Yash’s Baahubali. Now, his next film is crucial to protect his reputation in the pan-india space.
Adding to the confusion, Yash has signed two more films where he will not even play the lead, instead appearing in supporting roles in Ramayanaand another big project. For fans who once hailed him as the face of Indianmasscinema, this sudden retreat looks like damage control in case Toxic collapses.
Right now, Toxic is the talk of the industry but not in a good way. With its bloated budget, endless delays, and a leading man who looks more insecure than unstoppable, the film risks living up to its name: toxic for everyone involved.

A Star-Studded November Awaitswith love, action and high stakes.
Ajay Devgn’s De De Pyaar De 2 is set to release on 14th November, followed by Farhan Akhtar’s120Bahadur and Anand L. Rai’sTere IshqMein, starring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon.
While DDPD 2 isn’t a big-budget film, one can’t underestimate a rom-com with good music especially with Luv Ranjan involved. However, it will be interesting to see whether audiences accept Ajay Devgn in this role, considering the first installment was only a moderate box office success.
On the other hand, Tere Ishq Mein has the potential to surprise at the box office if the product is strong. Its announcement video had already created a buzz when it was unveiled.
Prabhas Leads, Alpha Follows: December Ends With Fireworks–
December 2025 will kick off with Prabhas’sRajaSaab. While it isn’t a big-budget film, a Prabhas release can still do wonders in the Hindi belt especially with horror films currently in demand.
As of now, Raja Saab is slated for a solo release on 5th December. However, according to a Pinkvilla report, around 50 days of shoot for Dhurandhar is still pending, with filming scheduled to resume next month. The film will most likely be pushed to next year.
Meanwhile, there has been no update on the release of Vishal Bhardwaj’sArjun Ustara, starring Shahid Kapoor in the lead role.
In 2025, Alia Bhatt will close the year with Alpha, where she shares the screen with Sharvari. The film is slated for release on the Christmas weekend. Alpha is part of YRF’s ambitious SpyUniverse, which has been struggling, especially after the disastrous outcome of War 2. For Alia, the film carries even more weight coming off the underwhelming performance of Jigra last year, she is in dire need of a hit. For both Alia Bhatt and YRF, Alpha stands as a do-or-die project.
No Aashiqui 3? Kartik’s Christmas Release Gets a New Identity.
Reports are coming in [though not yet confirmed] that Bhushan Kumar’sAashiqui 3 is set to release on the Christmas weekend, but with a new title, as Bhatt Films reportedly refused to give the Aashiqui title to Kartik- Basu’s film.
Kartik Aaryan returns to the big screen after the blockbuster Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. It will be interesting to see the outcome of his romantic thriller, especially since he has been struggling outside the BhoolBhulaiyaa franchise. This film is very important for him in the context of his franchise-driven stardom.

Hrithik Roshan, once Bollywood’s “Greek God,” is facing a major career setback. His latest film, War 2: a ₹450 crore sequel with South star NTR opened to just ₹25 crore, a huge disappointment. Because of this, the much-delayed Krrish 4 has been pushed back yet again.
With a reported ₹700 crore budget, Krrish 4 now looks too risky for producers. In the last 12 years, Hrithik has delivered only one major hit (War in 2019), and even that was boosted by Tiger Shroff’s popularity. Without a strong co-star, his films have been struggling.
Director Siddharth Anand’s company Marflix was once set to produce Krrish 4, but after Fighter flopped, they backed out. Even Rakesh Roshan admits it’s been tough to find investors. Since the pandemic, all of Hrithik’s big releases ; Vikram Vedha, Fighter, and now War 2 – have flopped.
The biggest concern is that his movies don’t even get big openings anymore. The actor who once guaranteed massive first-day numbers can’t seem to pull crowds like before.
Industry talk is clear: Krrish 4 isn’t just delayed, it’s likely dead and so might be Hrithik Roshan’s once-unstoppable box office power.
Hrithik Roshan needs to ditch the endless slow-motion action shots and step back into roles like Kaabil or Super 30, the kind that remind audiences he can actually act, not just flex. Viewers are bored of watching him walk in slo-mo while explosions happen in the background. What he desperately needs right now is a sharp, gripping, performance driven film not another overhyped, underwhelming “action spectacle.”
