The Forecast of Upcoming Releases: BMS trend,Hype & Expectations!

Upcoming notable releases of this year.

2026 has been a strong year for the Hindi box office so far. Border 2 has earned nearly ₹320 crore, achieving a superhit status, while Dhurandhar: The Revenge has reached another level altogether crossing ₹900 crore (Hindi net) and now heading toward the ₹1000 crore mark.

The next notable release is Bhooth Bangla, starring Akshay Kumar arriving in cinemas on April 17. The makers have opted for paid previews on April 16 from 9 PM onwards which may slightly split the opening day business but will add to the overall start. At the ground level, the film has decent buzz enough to ensure a respectable opening. Advance bookings will provide a clearer picture but here is;

Akshay Kumar’s last four openings in 2025:

Sky Force – ₹13 crore
Kesari Chapter 2 – ₹7 crore
Housefull 5 – ₹22 crore
Jolly LLB 3 – ₹12 crore

On the other hand, Raja Shivaji has had a below-par performance and failed to meet audience expectations. For stronger business in the North, it needed a Bollywood star as Ritesh Deshmukh as Shivaji hasn’t attracted mass appeal outside Maharashtra.

Some notable June releases are carrying decent buzz even without trailers. Toxic is set to release on June 4 with high expectations but as of now it has not fully captured the excitement. Meanwhile Maddock has dropped a song from Cocktail 2, which has received a mixed response.

Awarapan which is now releasing on independence day weekend  is heading towards surprising everyone. Even without any assets the film is going to open solid numbers. The film is getting solid interest in booking my show.

The biggest release of 2026 is Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra. On April 2 the makers unveiled a glimpse of Lord Rama which we had reported earlier. A film like Ramayana only needs a strong trailer to deliver one of the biggest openings in Hindi cinema. Ranbir Kapoor’s fan following is also likely to play a significant role in boosting the film’s numbers. With nearly six months still to go before release, the film has already become the talk of the town over the past few days.

First day box office forecast of upcoming films as follows:

Bhooth Bangla opened with ₹15 crore, which is ₹1 crore less than our prediction.
