Walking from the trend of nostalgia with re-releases to Stree being a natural phenomenon to the Indian cinema.- a recap’

A look back to 2024;STREE STANDS TALL IN DULL PERIOD ;

Few films managed to climb in the ladder of success but among them Stree 2 stands firm and tall with it . It is truly said that the characters mould a film with the extra essence of , it bragged the best in the business. Opening with 50cr and making 800 cr worldwide which debuts in the 500 cr club being the female centric film is a huge thing to boast with .

Stree changed the norm in Bollywood. Many producers are actually making female centric films after looking up to STREE. Shraddha kapoor’s grand entry in the belt of superstars in Bollywood which made her craze par with many male actors.
Somewhere Good writing takes the cake.Looking at Maddock’s progress, YRF and Dharma might have learnt finally that no one is indispensable. Although, Maddock should learn this lesson at their prime and understand the importance of consistent good work.
Audiences are strongly urging to meet Shraddha Kapoor in the movies and this urge is getting higher and higher.

What an amazing feeling of a biggie – She is indeed big and our very own pasandida Stree.

What’s Bollywood up to !

Bollywood is currently floating in the re-release trend or you can say a silent testimony of the unsaid truth that Bollywood is struggling financially?Or with 1-2 releases working, makers are trying to cash in on their cult films which didn’t get the numbers they deserved when they originally released? This is honestly a different economic effect to talk to but yes re-release culture is a good thing because there is something in the collective big cinema experience which one can’t get from the comfort of their home, in my opinion it’s very well needed to see large footfalls at the theatres.

Old movies releasing in a few theaters was a way for producers/distributors to earn a little more, and for fans to enjoy the movies in theatre. Over the last couple of decades due to increase in content it kind of went out of fashion, but now with people preferring OTT instead of theaters for 90% of new releases, it makes sense to re-release some of the theatrical hits from the past.I don’t see the big deal.
This was a very common occurrence even until the 90s. Movies like Sholay used to re-release in theaters every year, that’s how some people watched it in theatre .

Some biggies which re-released last year i.e, Karan Arjun, Singham, lakshaya , Rockstar, Jab we met, kal ho na ho, Tumbad, Rehna hai Tere dil mein, Gadar, Biwi no. 1, Ajab prem ki Gajab kahani, Hum aapke hai kaun, and so many other films following kaho na pyaar hai .
Tumbad which came out one of the best movies, encompassing all genres with a pure script bragging Rs 37.75 crore ,still the best business among all the re-release films.

After ANIMAL’S PHENOMENA RANBIR KAPOOR GAVE SUCCESS WITH HIS TWO RE-RELEASES WHEREAS HRITHIK ROSHAN’S FILM FAILED TO ATTRACT AUDIENCE.

THEN ROCKSTAR AND NOW YEH JAWANI HAI DEEWANI DOING SUPER BUSINESS.

Beating some of the re-released classics .

Yeh jawani hai deewani ‘ve even opened better than many big recent films in some big cinemas . Ranbir Kapoor is huge in big cities. Cult classic and his stardom speaks . He is very big in cities and now slowly enters the heart of land. His re-released movies are grabbing seats of cinemas in numbers compared to other Star-films.
I remember people used to say before Animal that Ranbir’s popularity was PR/Kapoor privilege and he didn’t perform that well at the box office. What people don’t get is that his movies like Wake Up Sid, Rocket Singh, Rockstar, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, and Tamasha had a very strong impact on young people across South Asia. Especially Rockstar and Tamasha. Young men used to relate with his characters. I would even say Ranbir was on par with Khans for these urban young people demographic.

Whereas on the other side , Lakshya and Kaho na pyaar hai failed to attract the audience and are going flat as well .
Hrithik Roshan is really struggling at the box office with his re-release which was a hit in earlier days.

The problem with Hrithik’s past best movies are they have failed to grow with time like kaho na pyaar hai was a massive blockbuster in the earlier time but when it got re-released hardly the seats are filled up with , same goes with lakshay. Although it was not that successful but it is a well made film but the problem continues to grow the same. Even with his other films, they failed to grow according to time.

That’s where Ranbir Kapoor has got the edge. YJHD or say Rockstar used to be a discussion which made ranbir a craze and no one was able to do it after Ranbir. He has many films which have massive repeat values among youths or we can quote modern day genZ.
